The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan has an exciting new position for an experienced fundraising professional looking to join a seasoned and fast-growing team. The Deputy Chief Development Officer (DCDO) will bring experience across the fundraising verticals with expertise in individual fundraising and events. The DCDO will report to and partner with the CDO on all elements of the team's work and aggressive fundraising goals. The DCDO will maintain a portfolio of mid-level individual donors and serve as the lead fundraiser for the JCC Manhattan's two signature events. The ideal candidate will be a strong collaborator and emerging leader, eager to participate in building relationships and connections throughout the JCC.

The Development Team values collaboration and a growth mindset. We are in a period of rebuilding and transition and looking for the right next team member to join us and help build towards the next generation of JCC Manhattan fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • The position will report to the Chief Development Officer
  • Partner with the CDO on institutional fundraising strategy and implementation
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of JCC donors and prospects, focusing on families with young children as well as other demographics.
  • Maintain updated donor moves through portfolio management - recommend and implement short, intermediate, and long-term cultivation and solicitation strategies for individual prospects
  • Identify, cultivate, and play the lead role in soliciting and closing mid-level ($1000 - $9999K) and major gifts ($10K+)
  • Lead events production staff in producing two signature fundraising events
  • Work closely with program colleagues to ensure fundraising alignment
  • Represent the Development team internally across all work streams

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in individual fundraising with mid- and major donors
  • Experience with event management
  • Comfort and facility working with donors/partners
  • A proven ability to close 5- and 6-figure gifts
  • Supervision and team-building experience
  • Facility with CRMs and moves management
  • Track record of creative problem-solving, setting, and meeting goals, strategic thinking, resourcefulness, task management, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Passion and commitment to the JCC Manhattan mission and values
  • Proven ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Excellent attention to detail
