Our Athletics Coaches play a crucial role in delivering a positive, engaging, and inclusive experience for children of all ages.

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic part-time Tennis Coach to join our team. In this role, you will help plan, organize, and deliver tennis programming for children ages 3-10. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in coaching tennis with children and has experience leading group classes. This candidate must also have an understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching techniques and language. We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated, and a team player.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tennis programming and activities tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
  • Teach group tennis classes in our state-of-the-art gym facility
  • Foster children's fundamental movement skills and understanding of gameplay.
  • Conduct daily sport-specific drills and games, including set-up, clean-up, and equipment management.
  • Enhance children's self-esteem and confidence through successful physical activity and sports participation.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants and address any issues promptly.
  • Engage with the JCC Children & Families community through department meetings and professional development.
  • Perform light administrative tasks as needed.
  • Promote JCC values and maintain a positive image of the JCC at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in tennis coaching
  • At least 3 years of experience as a collegiate or professional tennis player
  • Experience working with children in a sports or related environment (3+ years)
  • Energetic, upbeat, and able to maintain a positive attitude throughout the day.
  • Strong role model who promotes kindness, encouragement, and good values.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build effective relationships with staff and participants.
  • Comfort with large group instruction and ability to project voice in a large space.
  • Children's CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred; training will be provided.
