Camp Settoga, a day camp for 4-12-year-olds, is located on campgrounds in beautiful Pomona, New York. This position offers compensation ranging from $16.50 to $22 per hour. You'll inspire others while enjoying the best season of the year. Opportunities for extra hours (camp late nights and Settoga Sundays) will be available over the course of the summer.

What we're looking for in a Lifeguards & Swim Instructors
To thrive as a Seasonal Lifeguard & Swim Instructor at Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, you'll need a blend of skills and certifications that ensure safety and create a fun atmosphere by the pool. A current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard training (or a Level II Pool Only requirement) is essential, alongside CPR/AED for the professional rescuer training. Your quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities will shine during emergency situations, keeping campers safe and sound.
Additionally, a positive and energetic attitude is crucial, as you'll be part of a dynamic team focused on providing an enjoyable experience for everyone. Flexibility is key, with a commitment to working weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM between June 22 and August 15.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard training (or certification that meets Level II a Pool Only requirements)
- American Red Cross CPR/AED for the professional rescuer (or other accepted course)
- Quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities during emergencies
- Ability to maintain a positive and energetic attitude and contribute to a positive team culture
- Ability to work 8 am to 5 pm weekdays from June 22 to August 15
- Age 17 years old or more preferred (limited number of positions for 16-year-olds)
