JOB TITLE: Welcome Desk - Vaccination Greeter

Location: JCC Lobby, 334 Amsterdam (100% Onsite Position)

General Purpose of the Position:
The Vaccination Greeter is a full-time, frontline, health and safety ambassador and customer service position that will play a key role in implementation of the JCC's Institutional Vaccination policy. Long-term, the Greeter will also play a unique support role, serving as primary liaison between the JCC "lobby frontline" and other departments including Security, Membership, Box Office, Program, Health Club, Operations and other support departments.
Primary Responsibilities:
* The primary goal for Fall 2021 will be to (1) check NYS Excelsior pass, NYC COVID Safe app, or vaccination card upon JCC entry for every 12+ individual, (2) warmly welcome members, program participants into the JCC, (3) assist with directional wayfinding and (4) respond and facilitate customer/member service situations that arise as needed.
* Work closely with Security, Membership, Registration, Health Club, Program and Senior Staff in support of seamless Lobby operations in a COVID environment which includes routing customer service issues for follow-up.
* When not occupied checking vaccination cards, main duties include welcoming constituents, directing them to rooms, programs and events throughout the building, and answering general JCC informational questions.
* Assist the Box Office and Program Directors to ensure that large or busy events such as movie screenings, lectures and performances load-in smoothly through the Lobby, especially given vaccination checking requirements.
Essential Duties and Daily Responsibilities:
Lobby Welcome, Vaccination Checkpoint & Wayfinding
- Warmly welcome members, program participants and guests in the JCC via the 334 Amsterdam door by Security.
- Check every individual's proof of vaccination by way of NYS Excelsior pass, NYC Covid Safe app, or vaccination card upon JCC entry,
- Provide wayfinding and directional assistance
- Lobby Troubleshooting: Respond and facilitate customer/member service situations that arise as needed.
- Facilitate communication and handoff between prospective members and participants with the Membership and Registration teams.
- When not checking vaccination proof, help members and guests find programs that match their interests and schedules - aka playing the role of "JCC concierge" or "ambassador."
- Listen to positive and negative feedback from members and help circulate their feedback.
- Support for special institutional events and membership campaign days and events (e.g. Fall Open House, New Year's Day Fair)
- Ad hoc projects in support of JCC membership sales and customer service
- In conjunction with Marketing, the Greeter may help ensure the visual organization of Box Office/Lobby materials as well as the Community Bulletin Board.
Customer/Member Service:
- Warmly greet members and guests in line with JCC values
- Support JCC service and sales goals through clear, knowledgeable information or facilitating a handoff to another department
- Provide information/answer questions in a clear and friendly manner.
- Handle complaints and concerns in a diplomatic, timely manner
- Monitor the general entry and lobby environment as needed- report any issues accordingly.
- Serve as Program Liasion including basic knowledge of Centers/Program areas and "who to contact"
- Serve as Health Club ambassador including basic knowledge of Health Club floors and "who to contact"
- Perform administrative duties including sending and receiving daily emails, computer entry, photocopying, printing, etc.
- Adhere to all dress code regulations.
- Be familiar with and enforce JCC Member Code of Conduct
- Exhibit awareness of and enthusiasm for programs offered by the JCC and JCC Harlem.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Attend all meetings and training as required.

An individual who is is friendly, responsible, organized, not easily rattled, and can think on their feet (as well as be on their feet much of day) will succeed in this position. Someone who enjoys independent problem solving, creating systems, and quality control is a good candidate for the position. Evening and Sunday availability may be required.
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements
Comfort with iPhone use and NY State Excelsior app Comfort with database and CRM environments Comfort with Microsoft Office and Google Suites Database or MindBody experience a plus
Education and Experience Required
Minimum two years of customer service experience
Understanding of not-for-profit environments and community center philosophy
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, to listen and hear, and to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
