Job Title: Part-Time Lifeguards

Reports to: Senior Director, Aquatics

Department: Aquatics

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Date: May 2022

Duties and Functions:

Ensure the safety of all persons in the pool and pool area. Uphold and improve upon the safety procedures to protect and safeguard the public in the aquatics facilities. Interact with members and non-members in a friendly and professional manner. Routinely inspect pool safety equipment.

Act in a supervisory capacity on the pool deck as it relates to day-to-day activities.

Responsibilities:

• Safeguard all activity in and around the pools.
• Enforce rules and water safety procedures in a professional polite manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of pool deck including squeegeeing, picking up debris on the pool deck and in the pool, straightening out equipment, and keeping deck space free from obstruction.
• Arrive on time for a shift and after break time.
• Open and close facility as required per schedule of hours.
• Regularly check and document chemical readings for both pools.
• Maintain accurate headcount numbers.
• Assist in taking attendance for swim classes as necessary.
• Wear club uniform and follow dress code regulations.
• Report all problems and issues to Aquatics Facilities Director or person in charge in her absence.
• Follow established code of conduct.
• Attend staff meetings

Qualifications:

• Lifeguard Certification that includes Lifeguard Training, Professional CPR AED
• Strong customer service skills required
• Upbeat, friendly, enthusiastic and a team player.
• Perform all lifeguard and customer service duties without restriction.
• Starting salary $16.50 (varies with experience) must be provide proof of vaccination status.
