Our fitness team is looking for outgoing, driven personal trainers to train in our fitness center. The JCC Health Club is an inclusive space where we are committed to providing fitness for everyBODY -people of all ages and physical abilities, in a friendly and approachable environment.

Duties and Functions:

  • Create and sustain a client base with custom training programs geared to maximize client goals.
  • Provide safety and guidance in proper exercise technique and variations of exercises to meet goals of the client.
  • Offers accurate and up-to-date information and advice only on fitness and physical movements.
  • Conducts fitness consultations with potential clients. Including clearance to exercise documentation, PAR Q, Health History Questionnaire, and Physical Clearance forms prior to conducting a session.
  • Sell and promote personal training services and packages.
  • Maintains, submits and reconciles training sessions with administration and management by utilizing MindBody software.
  • Create and deepen relationships with members and enhance their sense of belonging and connection within the community.
  • Maintains professional standards of the trainer to client relationship.
  • Maintains all required certifications including CPR, AED and First Aid certifications and stays current on industry trends.
  • This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned.


  • Passion and knowledge in health and fitness.
  • Current nationally accredited Personal Training certification.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Motivated and focused on a great client experience, time management and organization.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required upon offer of employment.

Salary Range: $32 - $65/hr

Trainers must maintain a minimum of five hours of training per week in order to remain employed by the JCC Manhattan.


  • Requires a wide range of constant physical activities, including but not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
