JOB TITLE: Parkinson's Aquatic Fitness Instructor
Department: Parkinson's Wellness Programs
Reports To: Programming and Production Manager, Parkinson's Wellness Programs
Date: March 2022
Summary:
For over 15 years, the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan has been providing high quality fitness and wellness programs for individuals living with Parkinson's. The Parkinson's Wellness Program at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan is seeking an experienced Aquatic Fitness professional to teach an Aquatic Exercise Class for individuals living with Parkinson's. Experience with Parkinson's or working with individuals with special needs is preferred.
Requirements:
- Understand the importance of safe and effective program design.
- Have confidence in teaching group aquatic exercise.
- Have a compassionate heart and a patient demeanor are helpful in leading adults living with Parkinson's.
- Be available to work Thursdays from 10:45am - 11:15am.
- Teach a class from 11am - 12noon.
Education:
Certified Aquatic Exercise Certification
CPR
Experience:
Leading aquatic group fitness classes
Experience with Parkinson's strongly recommended or willingness to be trained, and
Learn the specific needs of individuals with Parkinson's is required.
The rate of pay will be $65-75 per class based on the experience of the instructor.
