Job Title: Associate Teacher
Department: Center for Family Life
Reports to: Director, The Bert and Sandra Wasserman Center for Family Life and Director of Programs for Infants + Young Children
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Job Overview: Positions are available for the 2022-2023 school year Sept-June in our Turning 2s class for the pre-nursery program.
Turning 2s is designed to be a young child's first drop-off experience in a classroom setting. Our pre-nursery programs are play-based, open-ended classes that encourage exploration, growth and discovery. We strive to create inclusive and engaging environments where children and families can become part of a community and develop lasting connections.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain the safety, happiness, and growth of children in classes.
- Work collaboratively on a teaching team.
- Communicate with families through reflection emails, posts of photos, etc.
- Plan innovative, open-ended, developmentally appropriate, child-centered curriculum
- Organize and maintain a classroom.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with young children in a classroom or informal setting.
- Proactive, open to learning and growing with mentoring from supervisor and co-teachers.
- Excellent ability to interact, communicate, and build relationships with parents and caregivers
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia, play-based and child-centered learning a plus.
- Knowledge of development and learning for children under 3.
- Knowledge of Shabbat, Jewish holidays, and values a plus.
- Certification in infant/child CPR and First Aid a plus.
- A kind, warm, welcoming, and reflective demeanor.
Salary Range: $28.00-$35.00
Hourly Range: Monday-Tuesday 8:30-11:30 am (class time is 9:00-11:00 am) and additional time for team planning, supervisory, and full staff meetings.
