Job Title: Summer Program Photographer/Videographer
Classification: Exempt (Seasonal)
Reports to: Assistant Director of Camps, who oversees camp programming
Position Purpose: Just like every programmatic position, the camp photographer's main responsibility is the safety and care of our campers. The photographer's programmatic role is to capture the daily life at camp with photography and capture images of campers in action! Camp Settoga is a Jewish and values based summer day camp that encourages campers and staff to experience all aspects of sports, arts, specialized activities, foods, music and more!
Essential Job Functions:
- The Photographer must capture and edit images for My Camp App
- My Camp App allows parents to view and save images of their campers
- The camp photographer is responsible for covering a variety of programming & groups during the day
- Support the bus counselors when riding to and from camp
- Participate in camp wide events and activities
- Support camp staff in capturing moments that are bright and engaged
Other Job Duties:
- Camp is 8 weeks, 2 sessions of 4 weeks long
- June 28th- August 17th (camp is closed July 3rd and 4th)
- Camp hours are 8 am -5 pm
- Camp activities needing photography/ videography may include but are not limited to: challenge course, soccer, tennis, basketball, and baseball, visual arts, dance, drama, special events, and more!
- There are 8 late nights throughout the summer where the photographer will be asked to stay. Hours added are 4 pm -6 pm.
Relationships: The Camp photographer will be reporting to the Assistant Director of Camps and working alongside the camp office administrator. The camp photographer will be encouraged to integrate themselves into the camp culture and become familiar with counselors, unit heads, camper care, aquatics, athletics, arts specialists, and head leadership staff.
Qualifications: (Minimum qualifications and experience)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Pursuing a Degree in Photography/ Visual Arts is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working in an internship focused on Photography/ Videography/ Visual Arts
- Experience in photography and videography
- Ability to be trained in My Camp App
- Knowledge of photo editing software
- Owns Video Editing Software
- Wordpress
- Smug mug
Physical Aspects of the Position:
- Compliance with all policies at camp settoga and the ability to move about camp and capture photos of daily life.
- The Camp Photographer must be able to transport their own equipment while walking around camp and while working in the camp office.
- Willingness to extend themselves past comfortable spaces in order to capture daily life. For example, near a ropes course, daily exposure to the sun and heat, near a swimming pool, and in general, around active play.
Salary Range: $3,200- $3,600
